About Us
The main aim of the club is to exchange information, with other members, on the keeping/breeding of birds the members keep or intend to keep in the future. We have some breeders who have bred birds for many years and are more than keen to share their experiences with fellow breeders/keepers. Also newcomers to the bird breeding scene are more than welcome to contact our members for advice, even better if you join the club.
For many years we have hosted an annual parrot/parakeet auction, under the auspices of the "PVSA", however the last two years we did not host an auction as the economic climate was not good and the number of annual bird-auctions held, were too many.
Meetings are held regularly in Pretoria. We always try to make these as interesting as possible and most of the time meetings cover a popular topic on feeding, incubation, diseases etc. or we have a speaker available to share with us real-life experiences with bird breeding/keeping. A bi-annual outing to one of our members is arranged to visit his or her breeding facility.
